Contract Hire in its simplest form is a long-term vehicle rental agreement that can be tailored to meet your individual requirements.

The main features are:

  • Low initial outlay, usually 1 or 3 months advance rental.
  • Fixed Monthly Cost.
  • No resale risk.
  • Road Fund Licence and Citroen Assist for the full contract period.
  • Known additional charge if contract mileage is exceeded.
  • At the end of the contract you simply return the vehicle and have no disposal worries.
  • Contracts are offered with the option of fixed cost maintenance.
  • Contracts are available for periods of 1-4 years.
  • In the event of an insurance write off, Citroen Contract Motoring (CCM) will supply GAP insurance to cover any shortfall between early settlement of the contract and the amount the insurers are prepared to pay.
  • This form of funding is "Off Balance Sheet" and considered an operating lease. Tax relief is available on the lease rentals, subject to the value of the vehicle. Full tax relief is applicable for any service element of the rental i.e. maintenance.
  • Since 1995, leasing companies are able to recover the VAT on the purchase price of new cars, this is passed onto you, the customer, by achieving lower monthly rentals.

If the vehicle is used solely for business purposes the VAT on lease rentals is fully recoverable; this reduces to 50% of the VAT if there is any private use of the vehicle.
