The main points of the contract hire scheme are:

  • You commit part or all of your payment of HRMC of DLA or WPMS to Motability Operations on a three year agreement, or five year agreement for heavily adapted vehicles.
  • In some cases you pay a non-refundable advance payment to obtain a vehicle; although many vehicles are available at no advance payment.
  • Up to 15,000 miles are allowed each year without extra charge. Additional charges will apply for mileage in excess of 45,000 on a 3 year agreement.
  • Full breakdown assistance for the Motability scheme vehicle is included through RAC Motability Assist
  • Comprehensive insurance cover for up to two permitted drivers is included.
  • Driving is usually restricted to two permitted drivers - one of whom may be the DLA recipient.
  • You must arrange for any adaptations to be removed at the end of the three year agreement and you will be responsible for any costs incurred.
  • Providing that you keep to the conditions of the agreement and are free of accidents, you have no further expense other than the cost of fuel and oil and Vehicle Excise Duty (Road Fund Licence), if applicable.
  • You will not own the vehicle at the end of the agreement. It remains the property of Motability Operations.

The costs of any Citroen accessories added to the vehicle are the sole responsibility of the customer and no refund will be made at the end of the term.
