Hire Purchase - New The main points of the Hire Purchase (HP) Scheme for New Vehicles are:

  • HP agreements are available for either four or five years for new vehicles and to qualify, your HRMC of DLA or WPMS award must last for the length of the agreement (starting from the delivery date), plus an additional eight weeks to allow processing time.
  • It is important to note that you will not own the vehicle until the end of the HP agreement or until you make an early settlement of all monies due in accordance with the terms of the HP agreement.
  • Vehicles must be fully comprehensively insured by you (with a recognised insurer) to cover your intended usage for the duration of the agreement. You must pay and arrange for insurance yourself.
  • As well as fuel and oil, you will be responsible for the cost of maintenance and repairs and any adaptations you may need to make to the vehicle.
  • There are no limits on vehicle mileage and therefore no mileage charges to pay.
